Griddle Sizzle

An 88-post Blackstone and flat-top cooking blog, moved off WordPress and rebuilt as a static Astro site on Cloudflare. Same content, same URLs, a fraction of the load time, and near-zero hosting cost.

  • Every post and permalink preserved across five categories, so no rankings or inbound links were lost.
  • Static build with self-hosted fonts and optimized images for strong Core Web Vitals.
  • Newsletter and contact forms run on Cloudflare Pages Functions and D1, with no third-party SaaS or API keys.
  • Runs for about a dollar a month with no plugins to patch and a visual CMS for the owner.

Humphrey Amps

A boutique builder of handmade tube amps for acoustic guitar, moved off Webflow and rebuilt as a static Astro site on Cloudflare. It has a custom product configurator, online deposits, and a one-of-a-kind ready-to-ship inventory, launched without losing a single old link.

  • Interactive configurator for wood, stand and add-ons, with live pricing and Stripe deposits by card or bank transfer. Deposit amounts are set on the server, so they can't be changed in the browser.
  • Ready-to-ship one-offs mark themselves sold as soon as a deposit lands, by checking Stripe directly, with no database or manual updates.
  • More than 70 redirects cover every old Webflow page and the earlier site's URLs, so rankings and years of inbound links carried over.
  • Mobile PageSpeed went from 71 to 98 with self-hosted fonts, right-sized images and deferred analytics, with 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO.
  • Moved DNS and hosting to Cloudflare with zero email downtime for the team's Microsoft 365 mailboxes.
